This was the first 6/8 march I learned how to play on the great highland bagpipes!
I still remember one fine Robby Burn's dinner, I might have been 10 or 11 years old at the time. I watched my pipe teacher play Bonnie Dundee on the pipes as he marched in the haggis. I remember thinking I gotta learn this tune!
6/8 Marches have such a nice feel to them. More of a swing or flow than your classic 4/4 bagpipe marches. 6/8 Marches can be played a bit up tempo but are not as challenging as getting a jig up to speed. I've had the fortune to please many different crowds over the years playing Bonnie Dundee on the pipes.
I am so thankful to have grown up playing to Bonnie Dundee on the bagpipes! Now, I'm here to help you learn this classic bagpipe tune!
